First Original
Roles in This Track:
Aimee: Lead Singer
Neelam/Nita/Tramaine: Harmonies
Jake: Keys
Piers: Bass
Elliot: Drums
Cem: Rhythm Guitar
Sury: Lead Guitar

Key: F major
This track begun to form in one of our rehearsals where Cem played a chord sequence he had already set which was then progressed by other members of the band nearly every time we went through it. The rhythm is kept by Cem with the guitar and Piers with the bass. The lyrics were written by Aimee and Jake which they created in their own time outside rehearsals, the melody was naturally created by Aimee as she wrote the lyrics. The Genre of this track will fall as Alternative Rock. This song is every dramatic, very strong and creative. This is exactly what we wanted, and I believe we have succeeded.

Fortune Faded- Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Roles in This Track:
Tramaine: Lead Singer
Neelam/Aimee/Nita: Harmonies
Jake: Keys
Piers: Bass
Elliot: Drums
Cem: Rhythm Guitar
Sury: :Lead Guitar

Key: B minor
This is the first track we first begun and completed as this was a song we decided to do before we even started rehearsals which gave everyone time to learn all their parts so they were ready as soon as they came in. This song was part of their Greatest Hit Album and was released in the year 2003. We begun and completed this track the quickest out of all the tracks from our set list which gave us more time to re-cap and progress on performance and the tightness of the song.

Second Original
Roles in This Track:
Tramaine: Lead Vocals
Piers: Bass
Cem: Guitar
Elliot: Drums

This track was composed over the Easter holidays at Aimee’s house. Piers begun with the bass riff he created. This track is mainly all instrumentation with come vocals added by Tramaine towards the end of the track being a verse and a chorus. This song isn’t an ordinary structured track and this is exactly what they wanted to achieve. They’ve put a lot of effort towards this song due to the complexity for reasons as various different sections, time signatures and keys.

Blackest Eyes- Porcupine Trees
Roles in This Track:
Nita: Lead Singer
Neelam/Aimee/Tramaine: Harmonies
Jake: Synth/Organ
Piers: Bass
Cem: Lead Guitar
Sury: Rhythm Guitar
Elliot: Drums

Key: D
This song was proposed to us by Elliot and the band came to an agreement that they all liked it and was definitely part of our set. Dynamically, this track is varied as it consists of soft parts with an acoustic guitar along with chops. This song was written by a band member of Porcupine Trees, Steve Wilson and was a part of their 2002 album ‘In Absentia’. This song wasn’t constantly rehearsed on a regular basis so it took a bit longer than all the other tracked to be completed. However, it is now one of our strongest tracks instrumentally.

Grace- Jeff Buckley
Roles in The Track:
Aimee: Lead Singer
Neelam/Nita: Harmonies
Jake: Keys/Strings
Piers: Bass
Cem: Lead Guitar
Sury: Bass Guitar
Elliot: Drums

This song was chosen in the last week of rehearsals, however it worked instantly. Everything came together really quickly as everyone learnt their parts prior to the rehearsals. This song being released in 1994, will be a big hit for all parents coming to the show, it gave some variety in our set. The instrumentation is very strongly duplicated as well as the vocals sung by Aimee even though the range is wide in this track.

16/05/2010

Rehearsal this week has been very poor due to a lack of attendance from most band members, which is very disappointing for some seeing as the show is next week! We have been running through our tracks and been progressing the second composition until me meet our performance standard.

Some of us, mostly he vocalist have discussed an acoustic set within the original set for fill it out a little or give some variety. This simple task can be done in no more than an hour, as there will be no more than three members per acoustic track

Aimee and I went over a few tracks being ‘Like a Star’ by Corinne Bailey Rae and ‘Russian Roulette’ By Rhianna. These are songs we are both comfortable and familiar with already. This made it easier when it came to harmonising, restructuring and adding our own little twist.

Our final rehearsal in on Thursday from 9-5, this leaves us with 6 important hours that could change our whole set!

Once I completed the spreadsheet, I’ve came to realise that there are many ways we could make a profit through events such as this through merchandise and CD sales. Whilst attempting to achieve a profit we’ll come across many things that could decrease the amount we make such as studio time, t shirt designing and making the product itself as it all cost a high amount of money. There are other roles in the event that is vital such as a door man for security purposes and a sound technician. This could be avoided by making CD’s in our own home studios, mastering your own personal record, use a friend to manage the door and technician. Using people and contacts you know through DIY are a well followed trend within the music industry nowadays.

The music that will be played at the gig includes varied set lists from different genres to satisfy the majority of our audience in our generation. We’ve set a ticket price of £3.00 which is affordable and worth it; also we’ve decided as a group that we will give 70% of these sales towards Japan for the saddening events happened recently. This will encourage people to come to our gig as it is for a good cause. As for my repertoire, we find that we are creating music that is commercial however a way for us to project our personal preferences.
