In the earlier rehearsal today, Piers and Nita weren't in which meant we were unable to rehearse ' Fortune Faded' so we ran through out original with keys, lead guitar and drums. As there was only so much we could do we discussed different tracks that we could prepare for in the future.
In the later rehearsal, Majority of our band were there, But the bass had to be played by K, We built up original with a chorus vocally along with a middle 8. We will need to use our rehearsal to just get the track tight and be able to perform with confidence.

Start 10.05

First band meeting
• Point 1: The first point raised in this meeting was to create an external page for our company. The idea was to create a page on a major social network like Facebook or MySpace giving information on our company, our course and any up and coming events. An alternative to this is to link our blog page on our own Facebook page (or any other social networks). We aim to gain some exposure by doing this in order to generate a crowd at a later date for our performances. Lorena has been left in charge of creating or linking a page.
• Point 2: Our second point raised was to make a start on taking band photos for our company blogs and external WebPages. We also touched on making recordings of songs. Maybe from past shows our out of collage bands etc. This will also go on our company page and external WebPages. Our aim here is to define our identities and give people a sense of who we are as people and musicians.
• Point 3: To really put a stamp on our company and define it more we need a logo for our separate bands, our company and an extra logo for the Japan cause. We have all decided we will draw up some ideas and give them to shantelle in order to finalise our logos. So everyone’s gotta be “on it” for this. DEADLINE MONDAY!!!!
• Point 4: In preparation for our final performances we discussed hosting small events. Our main idea for this was to busk. Out of this we also thought it would be a good idea to host our events as charity fund raisers towards the Japan disaster. We agreed that from the money we make from all performances we would give 70% to charity and 30% to cover expenses.
• In conjunction to this we thought it would be a good idea if we contacted some charities like the Red Cross, to ask for promotional items such as buckets with the charity logos on. The idea for this is to make people feel more inclined to give us their money. MWAHAHAHAHAHA!?.... Deji is in charge of contacting the charities.
• We also talked about contacting news papers such as metro and our collage newspaper. The aim of this is to expose ourselves in order to generate a crowd for future gigs and events. Deji is also in charge of contacting the newspapers.
• To further expose ourselves we agreed we would make a YouTube account dedicated to our company. On this YouTube account we will put recordings of our rehearsals and other music related things. Ruben Gardener is in charge of creating this account.
• Point 5: The Events management team have researched a little into some venues and have managed to get a few numbers. Their main task is to contact them, discuss our performances and find out the expenses of playing at the venues.
• Point 6: We re-evaluated our discussion on busking and performing. We have all agreed that during the Easter holiday and we will meet up to rehearse for busking and maybe even gigging. We may need to get our hands on busking licences.
• Point 7: Ticket pricing seemed like a lengthy discussion. We tried to determine a way to estimate ticket pricing. This could mean setting a ratio between the prices of an adult ticket to student ticket. From this we can estimate a general cost and maybe cap the amount of people we allow to watch us perform. The Ticket prices will be age dependant. (Student prices £2.00/ adult prices £3.00?) To save money on using tickets for every performance and event we came to the conclusion that we would use Stamps for small events and tickets for major ones. Malaika is in charge of finalising the pricing for our tickets.
• Point 8: Our last point was on financial affairs. Since we all have to keep a financial record of our purchases and expenditures, we agreed that we would all start doing some independent research into Any items and services that may involve money ( P.A hire/ rehearsal hire)
